I was awarded a US Department of State National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) scholarship to study abroad in Changzhou, China for the 2017-2018 academic year.

I studied at Changzhou Senior High School of Jiangsu Province. For the first semester, we had intensive Mandarin Chinese lessons for four class periods each day, with the other four free for us to immerse ourselves with our Chinese peers in their classes. During the second semester, we continued our four class periods of Mandarin Chinese, and also have the opportunity to visit other schools for lessons in various aspects of Chinese culture such as calligraphy and Kung Fu.
